Americans are lazy
Americans are considered 'lazy'. People notice this when they watch American series, movies and television movies.
Most of the characters are too lazy to grab the remote from the couch or to go into the kitchen for a drink.
There are several ways to describe what lazy actually is. The dictionary tells me that lazy is characterized by: slow-moving, resistant to work or extension, and moving in a languid manner.
I observed how 'lazy' the Americans I knew were during my stay.
I also researched how lazy the US is considered to be when compared to other countries.
Here are my findings:

The people around me weren't lazy at all.
My host mother Nouchelle, had several jobs and she was always on the road going to one meeting to another during my stay at her house in Winter Garden, FL.
My neighbors worked out at the Y, jogged, played basketball outside, and went to the beach to swim weekly. These were not lazy people at all. They were barely inside. I mostly saw them doing something together outside after school time and work time.
The clients that visited me at the African Art Gallery were mostly from the Orlando area. They either worked, study, or did both in order to reach their future dreams. These people didn't seem lazy either. Most of them liked to go swimming at Cocoa Beach and Daytona Beach. Some even told me that they like to play tennis with their families every week.
My observations told me that most of Florida's residents were not lazy people.

However, when I searched the facts about Americans being lazy. The answer proved to be the opposite of what I found.
In an article from the Indian Express from February 18 2010, a survey from the Daily Beast proved that the US is the most laziest country in the world.
''Americans are the laziest people on the planet, according to a new
survey. The 'Daily Beast' survey took into consideration daily calorie
intake, TV viewing habits, percentage of the population that plays
sports and Internet usage, reports the New York Post.''
This may be the case, but the people I met during my stay proved to be the least laziest people in America.
Therefore, I think that this stereotype doesn't necessarily apply to every American.
