NASA is the most well-known space program facility
NASA stands for National Aeronautics and Space Administration.
This agency belongs to the United States' government.
It is responsible for the nation's civilian space program and for aeronautics and aerospace research.
NASA has several known events under its belt: the Apollo moon landing missions, the Skylab space station, and the Space shuttle program.
NASA's purpose is to further understand earth through its Earth Observing system.
The other American space facility is called SpaceX, which has recently been in the news.
SpaceX stands for Space Exploration Technology Corporation. This facility is a space transport company that's located in California.
It's first rocket launch was suppose to occur in May of this year, but failed at the last second because of a fuel problem.
Therefore, for now: NASA is the most popular space program.
