Wall Street has the New York Stock Exchange, which is the largest stock exchange.
Several other headquarters were and are located at Wall Street such as: NASDAQ, The New York Mercantile Exchange, the New York Board of Trade, and the former American Stock Exchange.

There were two important stock crashes that affected Wall Street:
- Wall Street crash of 1929.
This is also known as the Great Crash as well as the Stock Crash of 1929. This was the most devastating stock market crash in the history of the United States of America.
The crash was followed by the 10-year Depression, the Great Depression, which ended in the US until 1947.

Black Monday refers to October 19 1987 when stock markets crashed all around the world.
